Patrick Roach for Borough Assembly Seat I
Patrick Roach is a Fairbanks public defender running against the far-right opponent and incumbent, Barbara Haney. He is running on a platform of improving the Fairbanks economy, protecting our public services, and funding education. Patrick hopes to improve housing access and increase programs that incentivize university students to stay in the community long-term. He also recognizes the value of Fairbanks parks, libraries, and recreational opportunities and is committed to protecting those services.
Garrett Armstrong for Borough Assembly Seat C
Garrett Armstrong is an elementary school teacher running on a platform of funding schools, services, and economic development. If elected to the Borough Assembly, he plans to focus on increasing housing availability and preserving our parks and public lands.
Sam Spencer for School Board Seat C
Sam Spencer is a project manager with a Doctorate in Business Administration who is running for school board to strengthen our public education in Fairbanks. As a veteran and pastor, she is deeply involved in the Fairbanks community. Sam is the pro-LGBT and pro-science candidate in this race. Her stated priorities include an evidence-based curriculum and fair contracts for teachers.
Naomi Hewitt for School Board Seat D
Naomi came to Alaska for a Summer job at UAF fifteen years ago and stayed for the community. She’s a proud mom, college graduate, journeyman telecommunications lineman, and Business Representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 1547. She she works for and serves the community by solving problems, advocating for fairness, and making sure people’s voices are heard.
Mindy O’Neall is the executive director of the Cold Climate Housing Research Center and currently holds seat C on the Borough Assembly. In her time on the assembly, Mindy developed and successfully pushed for the adoption of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. If elected City Mayor, her stated priorities include increasing housing availability, improving pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and improving ADA accessibility in downtown Fairbanks.
Crystal Tidwell for City Council Seat D
Crystal Tidwell is uncontested and an incumbent on City Council. She is pro-worker and a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302. She is using her uncontested campaign as an opportunity to support another endorsed candidate, Mindy O’Neall, for City Mayor.
